September 2017 Newsletter

ConnectEdPAIRS Newsletter: The Podcast Edition

We're mixing it up a little in our newsletter this month! Instead of articles to read in our Couples, Family, and Individual Corners, you'll find a list of podcasts relevant to each. So, give your eyes a rest and let your ears do the learning this month. In the next few months, we will feature an episode from the various podcasts.

For those of you who aren't familiar with podcasts, here is an introduction:

What is a podcast?
A podcast is a multi-episode series of audio files that can be downloaded and listened to at any time using a computer, mobile phone, or other media player. Podcasts can be compared to the radio shows that were listened to during the golden age of radio, However, podcasts cover a multitude of topics and podcasts don't require you to tune in at a certain time to listen; you can listen whenever you want.

Why should I listen to podcasts?
Podcasts are a form of education and entertainment that can help you gain knowledge on almost any topic of interest. Podcasts can help you grow personally and professionally and also provide a deeper sense of connection with the author than you achieve through reading the written word. Podcasts can help you optimize your time because when you listen to podcasts you can learn while you're doing other tasks such as driving to work, cleaning your house, or walking your dog. Also, The majority of podcasts are free to listen!

How do I start listening to podcasts?
You can listen to podcasts by streaming them through the creator's website or YouTube. The most popular way to listen to podcasts is by downloading them to your mobile device using an app. This allows you to listen to podcasts even when you don't have access to the Internet and also allows you to subscribe to podcasts so new episodes will automatically show up.

Now that you're familiar with podcasts scroll down to the Couples, Individual, and Family Corners and find some podcasts that are worth listening and find your favorite!
