Couples Corner

According to the article "How Vacations Can Help or Harm Your Relationship," vacation can be beneficial or troublesome for your relationship. The article lists some of the pros and cons of vacationing with your significant other. The article also offers some advice about how to make your vacation more helpful than harmful to your relationship.

1. Trying something new and exciting
2. Planning some independent activities
3. Avoiding exhaustion

Family Corner

The article "6 Tips For Being More Free-Range In the Summer" suggests that allowing your children to have more unscheduled time in the summer rather than filling their days with planned activities can be beneficial. Having unstructured time allows children to build a sense of independence and resilience. The article gives some ideas of how to allow unstructured time without completely sacrificing a sense of routine.

A couple of the suggestions include:
1. Unplugging from electronics during free time
2. Setting boundaries and then stepping back

These suggestions allow children to explore the world around them without giving them all the answers.

Most of us have heard of the term "self care," but what does it really mean? Self care is mindfully taking time to pay attention to yourself, or in other words, ensuring that you are being cared for by you.

The article "Self Care 101" offers ten ways to practice self care including:

2. Knowing how to rest and getting the sleep you need
3. Identifying what you enjoy and trying to integrate it into your day
